Reading for pleasure

Here at Blenheim Primary School, we believe reading for pleasure opens up new worlds for children. It gives them the opportunity to use their imagination to explore new ideas, visit new places and meet new characters.

We want to develop a love of reading for all our children. Each month we will be publishing a reading newsletter. The newsletter will be created by the teachers and pupils of Blenheim Primary School consisting of books reviews, recommendations, what the teachers are reading and reading across school.

Please find the latest newsletter below.

Reading Lists

Here at Blenheim Primary School, we value the importance of reading, as it is a crucial part of every child’s learning and development.

We believe it is important for every child to read and for every child to be read to. We understand how hard it can be for children and parents to choose the right books. Here are some suggested reading lists to support your child, when choosing a range of age-appropriate fiction and non-fiction books. We consulted children and teachers, when creating the lists so they can share their recommended reads.

These reading lists are a guide, as we always encourage children to read widely.
